We built the R7s carbon fiber heat lamp for one reason: to cure auto paint the way it should be cured—fast and focused. It was designed for the real-world need in body shops: get intense heat exactly where you need it, dry and cure coatings quickly, and keep the rest of the shop from turning into a sauna.
Technical Deep-Dive
The lamp uses a standard R7s base with a 300mm tube, so it slips right into the fixtures and handheld reflectors most shops already own. Inside, the carbon fiber element runs on high-voltage principles, pushing out concentrated infrared. The payoff? The paint surface climbs in temperature fast. And the wattage is tuned to deliver enough heat density to cure clear coats and base layers in minutes instead of dragging it out for hours.
Material & Design
The carbon fiber core is the heart of it. It heats up quickly, and it holds steady even when you’re cycling the lamp on and off again and again. The quartz envelope can take the heat and handles thermal shock without blinking. And the R7s connector? It’s a direct, drop-in fit for most lamp sockets in body shop equipment. So you can swap lamps without rewiring the whole setup.
Application & Benefits
In the paint booth, this lamp gives you a tight, focused heat zone. That means paint dries evenly, orange peel backs off, and the gloss comes out cleaner. Because it’s compact, you can get into contours and edges that big ovens simply can’t touch. But here’s the part to keep in mind: you’re working with serious heat concentration.
